ABOUT

Frederik Hornung is a professional Freelance Comic Book Artist, Writer and Illustrator based in a small town near Aschaffenburg, Germany.
He specifies in Horror, Mystery and Science-Fiction cartooning.

Frederik has worked with BOOM! Studios as writer/artist (Hello Darkness) and contributed to multiple independent comic anthologies (Comics Are Dying, What We Leave Behind, Loreverse Presents ...) and comic projects (Long Dark Winter, The Family Graves, Polar Destroyer, Charon 13).

His creator-owned web comic "Frederik Hornung's SECONDS TO MIDNIGHT" began online publication on his website as well as X and Instagram in early 2023, moving to monthly online publication in April 2024 through said channels.
He is currently working on his next major indie comic with writer Ian Mondrick titled "STASH BOX", a suburban horror comic, as well as an unannounced creator-owned indie horror comic releasing later in 2025.

Beyond just creating comics, Frederik taught a Comic Illustration Workshop at a local middle school for students in 2022.

In his free time, he greatly enjoys cooking for himself and his fiancé, from pasta to burgers to the continous attempt at perfecting homemade pizza. To decompress from sitting behind the drawing board like a zombified corpse, he enjoys hiking with his pet Labrador, going to the movies, catching up on comics or researching folklore.
